How do you treat fleas on infants kitties?  Everything I look at says not until 8 weeks, but mine are infested.  I have bathed them & picked them off, treated my adult cats with Frontline (except the nursing mother) I have some Adams flea mist that says you can spray along their back or put on your fingertips & rub into coat but I am afraid to do this because momcat still grooms them quite a lot.  I feel so sorry for them. Any suggestions?

I've had that problem!! The flea will suck the life out of the kittens! My pet food place told me about the only one they know of for small critters, even nursing kittens. It works great, and the kittens were fine. Its called " NATURAL CHEMISTRY" brand DE FLEA pet shampoo. I hold them under slowly running warm water, spray it on and rub around. Then rinse. Good luck. Also, if they have fleas, they have worms,too. Need to get them de-wormed. Poor things, but they really to get healthy!!

Fleas will quickly kill young kittens - they literally suck the life out of them with all of their bites. What you need to do is flea-treat mom with a safe product like Frontline or Advantage, and it will kill the fleas on the kittens as well. Anything else you can buy over the counter is NOT safe for nursing moms. These two are. Also change their bedding daily, this will get rid of the flea eggs in the bedding. Short of taking them all to the vet, there isn't much else you can do. You can flea comb the kittens, but that's about it. They are really even too young to bathe as at that age they can't regulate their body temperature and they can become hypothermic.
