    4th of July for pets

Hope everyone made it through the 4th of July fireworks and their pets too.  They can really scare your pets and they need extra attention while they are being fired off.  Anyone got a good story to share on how you pet handled thema?

My dog started barking everytimee he heard them last night.  It was like he was singing to them.  I gave him some treats and petted him to get calmed down.

     Tha's my story...

Re: 4th of July for pets

During 4ht of july festivities more animals are lost than at any other time of the year. Loud noise from fireworks frightens animals due to their heightened senses of hearing, and they become willing to do anything to escape the noise. This behavior is usually unpredictable and out of character. I have kept my dog indoor in a cool, quiet room. I made sure the windows are closed and had the shades of curtains pulled. Often I put the sound of soft music or the low rumble of a television which helped to calm my pet. I made to leave a light on for my pet too. These things helped my dog feel safe and secure.
